Home and Field provides graded gundog training classes and 1:1 training which can be tailored to suit individual training levels and goals.
Each of the training levels below have been designed by the originator and author of The Pet Gundog series of books and DVDs, Lez Graham MA and builds from the previous level so there is always a level for you.
Beginner - to include: walking on a loose lead with distractions, sit stay with distraction, recall, retrieve and delivery and introduction to whistle work.
Novice - to include: off lead heel, steadiness to thrown dummies, retrieving from cover, retrieving multiple dummies, memory retrieves, long marked retrieves, blind retrieves and hunting commands
Intermediate - to include: advancing from the novice on off lead heel, whistle work, steadiness, memory retrieves, the retrieving clock, delivery and directional controls
Advanced - to include: steadiness with or without shot, hunting, whistle commands, hand signals and steadiness around other dogs and people.
Working - to include: steadiness in the line, delivery of cold game, hand signals, water retrieving and focus including assessment under shooting conditions where they will become part of the picking up team or beating line.

In addition after taking the Advanced course it is also possible to take the Kennel Club's Working Gundog Test on dummies.
One to One training is a superb way of introducing you and your dog to gundog training.
A one to one session starts with an assessment to see where you and your dog are with your training and what you would like to achieve.
